The Han-Dee Wagon Box Tie Downs - Sudenga Iron Works

The Han-Dee Wagon Box Tie Downs
Manufactured Circa 1947 by Sudenga Iron Works - George, Iowa

A hand written note on this brochure assures "many" of these were sold. Solving a common problem experienced by owners of wagon boxes in the late 1940's this brochure states:

Something new for wagons.  In this day of speed over rough roads, through fields and over corn rows, wagons take a terrific beating.  The constant jolting, twisting, wrenching and strain placed on wagon boxes brings about faster deterioration, results in more repairs and an earlier destruction of this equipment so necessary on every farm.

The literature goes on to state: Patent Pending.  Models to fit all wagon boxes.  Wood and steel flare boxes.  The Hand-Dee Wagon Box Tie Downs are an ingenious attachment that eliminates the jar, wear and tear so destructive to any wagon box. They actually pay for themselves many times over.

Especially suited to use on rubber tired running gears, they eliminate the noise and rattle, force the tires to take the jar and protect steel wagon boxes from cracking.

Of heavy, all steel and chain construction, they fit all standards running gears and wagon boxes - either steel or wood.  The Han-dee tie downs are quickly and simply attached, being interchangeable from one wagon to another in from two to three minutes.

No wrenches, plyers, or tools are needed to make the change.  A mere twist of the wrist applied to a turnbuckle will pull the box down tightly and securely to the running gear.

The Special Model Han-dee Wagon Box Tie Downs are of all steel angle iron and heavy chain construction with a forged steel turnbuckle.  A set of two of these on a hay rack will hold it securely to the chassis and can be attached or removed in from two to three minutes.  They are so constructed that they cannot pull the stingers together, yet make it impossible for the box or rack to shift or jar about when moved over rough terrain.  They will pay for themselves in a matter of weeks through saving wear and tear on the box and chassis, yet will last for years.  You'll like their simplicity and security.  ALL MODELS FULLY GUARANTEED.  Patent Pending  Set of Two, Per Set ......$....(no price noted)
